Do you like playing games? Do you enjoy cooking? Do you like to occasionally have more than just soda pop and potato chips as snacks for game night? In this new Monday blog series, game industry personalities will be sharing some of their favorite recipes for game night munchies. Welcome to Gaming Gastronomy! This week our spicy spin on a classic comes from Molly Warlaw and Nathan McNair of Pandasaurus Games.

Pandasaurus Games (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Website) came into existence 5 years ago when Nathan McNair approached then fiancé, Molly Wardlaw, with a wild idea that was “just for fun” to Kickstart a little game Nathan had created. But before it was ever finished, Nathan convinced the designers of a little game called “Tammany Hall” to let him bring the game to a larger audience. The Kickstarter was such a success that the little company created as a way to bide time, became very real.

Today Pandasaurus Games is both Molly and Nathan’s full-time job and this year will be their biggest year yet, with almost a dozen games hitting shelves.

When asked if they wanted to join in the Gaming Gastronomy fun, Nathan responded with…

What a fun idea!

I have a great many recipes that I lean on when we have guests.

I’ll assume “buy a offset smoker and sit outside with brisket for 8 hours” isn’t a recipe that would be helpful :p So, my mac and cheese:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 lb Velvetta, cut into 3/4in cubes
  • 4 TBS butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 8 oz macaroni
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded.

Directions:

In Double Boiler, heat first 5 ingredients, until cheese melts, stirring frequently. Cook Macaroni in separate pot per directions on packaging. Layer the mac and cheddar in casserole. Pour the cheese mix over all. Cover and bake at 350 for 10-20 min. Makes 10 big servings.

In the coming weeks, check back here on Mondays for more delectable recipes from personalities around the game industry.
