As Gen Con 2016 quickly approaches, many bloggers, podcasters, and YouTubers are posting their top lists of games they are looking forward to at Gen Con. Each year I not only look forward to new games to add to my collection, but to see others enjoying games that I helped produce.

If you are interested in seeing some of the games I helped with, you can find them throughout the exhibit hall.

I will also be attending the ENnies again this year to celebrate with Lynne Hardy and Modiphius the nomination of Achtung! Cthulhu: Shadows of Atlantis for Best Adventure and Best Art, Cover. That was such an amazing and massive campaign book to work on as a proofreader. Each year the ENies are a joy to spend time celebrating with other game industry professionals, acknowledging their amazing creativity. Here’s hoping we walk away with an ENnie award again this year.

This has been another wonderful year as a freelancer for me. I have been privileged to work with a group of incredibly creative and professional people. There are even more projects in my queue that I think you will be very interested in when they become available for purchase.

For those readers who are curious what games interest me and my family, here is our “To Check Out At Gen Con” list for 2016. First thing, we will be checking out is the CoolStuffInc booths (Booths 1501/1709) to see if we can find any incredible deals on scratch and dent games. Then, when we are not working the booth, attending sessions, or gaming, we will be wandering the Exhibit Hall, checking out and demoing these games. Wonder what games will make it home with us this year?

Star Trek Panic by USAopoly (Booth 1813)
Stellar Conflict by Stronghold Games (Booth 2323)

As you look at games this year, pause for a moment and think of everyone involved in creating these wonderful games we get to play. As a freelancer in the industry, I have so much appreciation for all that goes into producing and publishing these games. If you have a spare moment during the convention, flip open the RPG or game manual you have purchased recently to the credits pages and appreciate the names listed there.

So excited Gen Con 2016 is almost here! This year, I will again be helping out Modiphius with their booth (#2737) setup, working a shift each day (3 to 6 pm), and tearing down the booth on Sunday. So you will be able to find my family and I at the booth, wandering the halls, or around downtown Indy. Perhaps we will see each other face to face during Gen Con. My family and I would love to chat with you.
